Privacy Policy

NoSubs is a language-learning application operated by Team Seven ("NoSubs," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we may receive your email address, name, account identifier, and authentication information from the sign-in method you choose, including Apple, Google, or email and password. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.

Learning and content information

We store content links you submit or share with NoSubs, associated titles and metadata, transcripts and language-learning material created from that content, saved library items, flashcards, study progress, language choices, and notification preferences.

Purchase information

Apple or Google processes subscription payments. We and our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receive limited transaction and entitlement information such as the product purchased, subscription status, renewal status, and expiration date. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card details.

Device, diagnostics, and usage information

We may collect device and app-version information, anonymous or account-linked identifiers, feature interactions, paywall events, error details, and push-notification tokens. This information helps us operate the app, understand feature performance, deliver requested notifications, and diagnose problems.

2. How we use information

• Provide authentication, libraries, transcripts, sentence practice, flashcards, and progress syncing.
• Process submitted content and generate language-learning material.
• Verify subscriptions and provide paid features.
• Send notifications you request, including content-ready and trial-reminder notifications.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and improve NoSubs.
• Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.

3. Service providers and sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information only as needed to operate NoSubs, comply with law, protect users and our services, or complete a business transfer. Service providers may include Supabase for authentication and data hosting; Railway for backend hosting; Apple and Google for authentication, distribution, and purchases; RevenueCat for subscription management; Expo for push notifications; and OpenAI and Replicate for language-processing and transcription services. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

4. Content from third-party platforms

If you submit a link from a third-party platform, NoSubs may retrieve publicly available metadata or media needed to process your request. Your use of that platform remains subject to its terms. Do not submit content you are not permitted to use.

5. Data retention and account deletion

We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect our systems. You can delete your NoSubs account from Settings in the app. Account deletion removes account-linked user data from our active systems, subject to limited legal, security, backup, and fraud-prevention retention.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Children

NoSubs is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information to us.

8. International processing

Your information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate measures for international data transfers.

9. Your choices and rights

You may update certain account preferences in the app, disable notifications in device settings, restore or manage subscriptions through your app-store account, or delete your account in NoSubs Settings. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of personal information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as NoSubs changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by other appropriate means.
